Matt Bukovac joined the VLC coaching staff in the fall of 2017 as an assistant coach for the 2023 team, and serves as a goaltending positional coach for the program. Matt was a US Lacrosse All – American and Dulles District player of the year in 2011 at Briar Woods High School. He went on to play at Division I Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA, where he earned NEC All – Rookie honors as well as being named a captain his senior year.

Thor Rasmussen

As a chemistry and finance major, Thor studied and played lacrosse for Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. Rasmussen was a four year starer at offensive midfield and quarterbacked the offense his senior season. After college Thor returned to the Washington DC area to pursue government contracting and coaching. The former offensive coordinator of Fairfax High School is now an assistant at Madison High School.

Jake Bullock

Coach Bullock has been with VLC since 2014. He was previously an assistant coach with the 2016 team and is now the head coach of the 2019 team. Coach Bullock is currently his 3rd year as the Head Coach of Oakton High School where they won the Northern Region 6A Championship in 2017 and finished with an overall record of 16-5. Previously to being the HC at Oakton he served as an assistant varsity/head JV coach from 2013-2015 and earned Concorde District Assistant Coach of the year from ’13-’15 and also received Northern Region 6A Assistant Coach of the Year in 2015. He was also the head coach at McLean HS from 2009-2012 and an assistant at Falls Church HS from 2007-2008 where he helped them win the first and only district championship in school history. He briefly played at Randolph-Macon College before transferring to George Mason University to earn his bachelor’s degree. He currently resides in Springfield with his wife Marie and 1 year old son Kenny.

Andrew Delaney

Drew Delaney enters his third season as the head men's lacrosse coach at the University of Mary Washington. Delaney brings a record of success to UMW, having served as head coach at Elizabethtown College for three seasons, from 2014-16. He posted a 33-16 record during that time, including a 26-9 mark the last two years, going undefeated in league regular season play in each of those years. In 2016, the Blue Jays finished with a 12-6 record and advanced to the Landmark Conference championship game, with two players gaining All-America honors. In 2015, the Blue Jays won a school record 14 games (14-3) and finished the regular season unbeaten in conference play (7-0) for the first time. Delaney was named Landmark Coach of the Year by his peers, as the Blue Jays would put together a team record 13-game winning streak from March 7-April and earn the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Conference Championship. Delaney has served as an advance scout for the Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse, from 2012-16. Outside of coaching, he brings experience as a physical education instructor, assistant sports information director and equipment manager. Delaney is originally from Maplewood, N.J. His wife, Linda, is a Hall of Famer and former All-American field hockey athlete and three-time all-region selection in women’s lacrosse at Lynchburg College.

Jeff Schwartz

Played lacrosse as a FO man at The University of Lynchburg from 2008-2012. Stayed on to coach at Lynchburg during the 2013 season helping lead the team to a quarterfinal berth. Moved on to take over as the Head Coach for the Israeli Men's National Team from 2015-2016. Stayed on after leaving Israel and served as an assistant coach. Still serving in this capacity as Defensive Coordinator as we prepare for the 2023 World Lacrosse Championships in San Diego. From 2016-2018 and then again in 2021 coached at Paul VI High School as well.

John Dicamillo

Coach DiCamillo graduated from Ohio State University, where he played lacrosse from 1998-2002. He was named 1st Team All Conference Midfielder in 2002. John was an Assistant Coach at Denison University from 2002-2003, before moving on to Goucher College as an Assistant Coach from 2003-2005. John coached in Great Falls' program from 2006-2013, winning 5 championships. He has coached with VLC since the club's start and is the VLC 2017 team's Head Coach. John earned the 2013 Fairfax County Champion of Character Award. He is a Real Estate Broker for CBRE, Inc.

Ryan O'Connor

Coach O’Connor is currently the VLC 2027 head coach. After graduating in 2015 from Paul VI Catholic High School in Loudon, VA, Ryan went on to play Midfield at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2015-2019) where he was a part of the 2016 National/ACC Championship team. Ryan currently works in the sales organization for Herndon based Cyber-Security company, Expel.

Mike Mabry

Coach Mabry is joining VLC and bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in player development and wellness. As a player he was an all conference selection, two time captain and program record holder at Christopher Newport University. He was an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at St. Paul VI Catholic High School from 2016-2021. Coach Mabry served as Director of Player and Coaches Development with the Hammers Lacrosse Club from 2018-2020. He is the Co-Founder and President of the Mabry Academy which is focused on holistic player development and improving the culture of youth sports. Mabry is also the host of the One Big Team podcast.

Billy Kelly

Coach Kelly will be coaching with the VLC 2020 and 2022 teams. Coach Kelly graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2014, playing attack for the Men’s Lacrosse team for four years. In 2014, he was named Captain, and helped lead the team to the NCAA tournament. He was an all-region player and two year Captain at Herndon High School from 2006-2010. Coach Kelly has coached both at the high school and youth league levels. He currently resides in Reston, VA and is a Commercial Real Estate Broker with KLNB Retail.

Shane Warner

Coach Warner is currently the Class of 2024 assistant coach. After graduating in 2009 from North Rockland High School in Thiells, New York, Shane went on to play Midfield at Binghamton University (2009-2013) where he was named Team Captain, Most Valuable Player, America East Conference All-Academic Team, and recognized as a finalist for the Yeardley Reynolds Love Unsung Hero Award. Following graduation, Shane went on to McDaniel College where he coached for two years while attaining his Master's Degree in Education. He is the former defensive coordinator at Bishop O'Connell and McLean High School. Currently, Shane teaches Special Ed and History at McLean High School in McLean, Virginia.

Patrick Zanelotti

Coach Zanelotti has been coaching high school and club lacrosse in Washington Metro area for the last 6 seasons with VLC and Paul VI Catholic HS. Over that time over 30 of his players have gone on to play college lacrosse at DI, II, and III levels with numerous All State, All-Met, and All-American honorees. Coach Z was the associate head coach for Paul VI during their runs to the WCAC championship games in 2013 & 2015 and VISAA championship game in 2013. Coach Z is a 2008 graduate of VMI where he was a 4-year starter as defender and LSM. He was named to 2008 MAAC All-Tournament Team and elected team captain. Coach Z commissioned in the Army upon graduation and deployed as Platoon Leader supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. He has a BA in International Studies and an MBA with a concentration in corporate strategy.

Palmer Lloyd

Coach Palmer recently graduated from Rutgers University, where he face-offed and played midfield in the Big Ten conference from 2016-2020. Palmer previously played for the 2016 VLC team as well as at Madison High school in Vienna Virginia. He is now pivoting his career interests into the field of neuroscience and taking coursework and gaining lab experience in the DMV.

Christian Simon

Coach Simon is entering his second year at VLC. Coach Simon has been coaching Lacrosse for the last eight years in various states including South Carolina, Indiana, and Kansas. In South Carolina he served as defensive coordinator at Bishop England High School. At Bishop England, Coach Simon helped lead the Bishops to their first state championship in 2017. In addition to coaching at Bishop England, Coach Simon assisted with Cusabo Lacrosse Nation, an organization which sought to expand the sport of Lacrosse into the inner city within Charleston. After South Carolina, Coach Simon moved to Wichita, Kansas where he assisted in the foundation of the ICT Knights Lacrosse Program. In addition to VLC, Coach Simon also coaches at TC Williams High School.

Connor Murphy

Connor Murphy joined the VLC coaching staff in the summer of 2021 as an assistant coach for the 2023 team. Connor was a US Lacrosse All-American, First Team All WCAC, First Team All VISAA and a First Team All-Met player at Paul VI Catholic High School. Connor also played on VLC’s 2013 team. He went on to play Attack and Midfield at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where he earned the BIG Sportsmanship Award and Scholar All - American honors."
