Coaches
Tommy Dorrycott
Coach Dorrycott has been with VLC since 2020 and is the current Head Coach at Briar Woods High School. He has over a decade of coaching experience in the DC Metro area, holding positions as the JV Head / Varsity Assistant at Poolesville High School (MD), Varsity Assistant at Tuscarora High School (VA) and Varsity Assistant at Loudoun County High School. Originally from Poolesville, MD, Tommy graduated from Shenandoah University in 2009, playing for both the football and lacrosse programs. In 2008, he was selected to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference All-Sportsmanship team for that season at Defense and selected as a team captain in 2009.
Ernie Frate
Ernie Frate joins VLC with 6+ years coaching experience throughout the DC Metro area. As a member of the Briar Woods High School lacrosse program, he took on his first season (2022/23) with the program as JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Defensive Coordinator, finishing the Spring 2023 season with a combined regular & post season record of 25-5. As a driven and energetic lacrosse coach, Ernie has a proven track record of motivating, mentoring and helping student athletes achieve their maximum level of athletic potential. Furthermore, committed to cultivating a positive team environment both on and off the field. Currently possess Men's Game Level 2 Certification through USA Lacrosse.
